This souvenir jacket—commonly known as a Sukajan—marks Fullcount’s long-awaited return to reversible Yokosuka-style designs. This year’s release features a hawk and Mt. Fuji on the front, with a dragon embroidered on the back—a visual nod to Japan’s postwar transformation and the growing influence of Western culture.

Mt. Fuji & Hawk & Dragon
Mt. Fuji, a national symbol of Japan, represents purity and a strong, unshakable foundation—particularly meaningful during the 1960s, when the country was rising from postwar ruins into an economic powerhouse. The hawk symbolizes Japan’s restored dignity, ambition, and growing international presence, while also representing intelligence and strength. In Japanese tradition, the dragon signifies power, good fortune, and the authority of the emperor.

From another perspective, the imagery also reflects mid-20th-century cultural fusion. With American forces stationed in Japan during that era, East-meets-West motifs became widespread. The hawk—often associated with American ideals—and Mt. Fuji—an iconic Japanese landscape—together symbolize a cross-cultural blend of friendship and strength.

Fabric
The 2094HW Aged Skajan is made from heavyweight acetate satin. It is a modern interpretation that incorporates fluorescent thread not found in vintage pieces, adding a fresh twist. That said, the body is dyed in muted tones, so the overall look stays refined rather than flashy. A special piece that stands shoulder to shoulder with true vintage—definitely worth checking out.

Emphasizing the fluid drape seen in vintage Sukajan, the jacket is unpadded and finished with extremely relaxed ribbing. From the butterfly zipper to the piping, every detail has been carefully considered. The bold embroidery and color balance elevate the piece far beyond traditional Sukajan. It’s also been given an aging treatment that completely evolved the color palette and added subtle characters to it.

This is likely the first aged Sukajan release in quite some time on the market.
And yes—the price might come as a bit of a surprise.
But rest assured, the quality absolutely lives up to it.
